These are the rules for using Lifeuntox: our website at lifeuntox.com, our guide library at guides.lifeuntox.com, our email newsletter, our text messages, and our community spaces (together, the "Service"). We have written them in plain English on purpose. Where a plain-English sentence and a legal requirement pull in different directions, the meaning that gives you the most protection under the law that applies to you wins.

By visiting our sites, subscribing to our newsletter, opting in to text messages, reading our guides, or joining our community, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to subscribe or opt in to text messages. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Lifeuntox publishes editorial content about clean living and everyday health: a daily email newsletter, free written guides, social media content, and a reader community. We may add, change or withdraw parts of the Service at any time. We try to give notice of significant changes but are not always able to.
Everything we publish is for general education only. It is not medical, nutritional, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation. Do not start, stop or change any medication, treatment, diet or health routine because of something you read from us without speaking to your doctor or another qualified professional first.We work hard to be accurate and to link every claim to its source, but research changes, products get reformulated, and we make mistakes. Where we find an error we correct it in the open. You are responsible for decisions you make about your own health and home.If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.
The newsletter and the guides are free. When you subscribe you agree to receive emails from us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, and it works the first time. We may also send occasional service emails (for example, a correction or a change to these terms) that are not marketing.You agree to give us a real email address that you control, and not to subscribe anyone else without their permission. We may suspend or remove a subscription that is being used to abuse the Service, to harvest content, or in breach of these terms.
If you give us your mobile number, you are agreeing to receive text messages from Lifeuntox. These messages are limited to product recall alerts and occasional service notices. Providing your number is optional and is never a condition of subscribing to the newsletter or reading a guide.
Frequency: a few messages a year. Never daily marketing.
Cost: message and data rates may apply according to your carrier's plan.
To stop: reply STOP to any message and you will be removed immediately. You may also email us.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
You confirm that the number you provide is yours, and that you will tell us if it changes hands. Before we send any text, we may send a confirmation message asking you to confirm your opt-in.
Lifeuntox is free to read. We make money in two ways, and we tell you about both every time they appear.
Partnerships. We work with a small number of brands whose products already meet our standard, including NOTOXCHEF, our official cookware partner. Partners do not choose, see early, or edit our editorial content.
Affiliate links. Some links to products earn us a commission if you buy. The price you pay is the same or lower. A commission never changes what we recommend, and where we recommend a product with no affiliate arrangement, we recommend it anyway.
Any purchase you make from a partner or retailer is a contract between you and them. Their terms, prices, shipping, returns and guarantees apply. We are not a party to that sale.
The newsletter, guides, illustrations, logos, names and the design of our sites are owned by Lifeuntox LLC or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. "Lifeuntox" and our leaf logo are our trademarks.You may read, print and share our free content for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote short extracts with a clear link back to us. You may not republish whole guides or editions, sell our content, remove our name from it, use it to train a machine-learning model, or scrape our sites at scale without our written permission. If you would like to reuse something, email us; we usually say yes.
If you post in The Untox Club or reply to us publicly, you keep ownership of what you write but give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display, quote and share it in connection with the Service, for example by featuring a reader question in a newsletter with your first name and state. Email us if you would rather we did not quote you.You agree not to post anything unlawful, abusive, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights, and not to give or seek individual medical advice in our community. We may remove content or members at our discretion. Community spaces hosted on third-party platforms (for example Facebook) are also subject to that platform's rules.
We link to studies, regulators, retailers and other sites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on that site. Our sites are delivered using third-party providers (see the Privacy Policy for the current list), whose own terms apply to their services.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content will produce a particular result for you. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifeuntox LLC and its members, staff and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You agree to indemnify Lifeuntox LLC against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the Service.
You can stop using the Service at any time; unsubscribing from email and replying STOP to texts ends those communications. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13 and 15 survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If we have a dispute, please email us first; most problems are solved in a couple of messages. If we cannot resolve it informally within 30 days, either of us may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in Albany County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, you may also have rights under the consumer laws of your own country that these terms do not take away.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. For significant changes we will tell subscribers by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
