A Century of Killing for Profit

Let's start with the body count. Because Monsanto isn't just a chemical company that went bad. They've been killing people since 1901, and they've gotten really, really good at it.

1901-1970s: The PCB Era
Monsanto was the sole US producer of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). They knew by 1937 that PCBs caused severe liver damage. By the 1960s, they knew it caused cancer. They kept selling it until it was banned in 1979.

Death toll: Impossible to calculate. PCBs are in every living organism on Earth. They cause liver cancer, brain cancer, melanomas. They're still killing people today, 45 years after being banned.

💡 The Anniston cover-up: Monsanto dumped 45 tons of PCBs into Anniston, Alabama's water supply. Internal memos showed they knew it was "extremely toxic" but decided "we can't afford to lose one dollar of business." The town's cancer rate is still 300% above normal.

1960s-1970s: Agent Orange
